Happy April Fool’s Day!
I was planning to write something else, but then I realized that today is a holiday! So, in the spirit of jokes and humor, I’m going to share with you what the funniest film I’ve even seen is. And that movie is…
There are many classical films that are hilarious. There are many modern films that are also extremely funny. But nothing has made me laugh as hard as ‘The Hangover’ has. Comedies are my favorite genre of films. There are almost no comedies that have come out since 2005 that I haven’t seen. When it comes to classic movies, I do have a bit of catching up to do, but I have seen quite a few of them. But still, ‘The Hangover’ is at the top of my list.
I remember the first time I saw this film in the theater. I was dying and crying out of laughter for about 3/4 of the movie. The plot of this production ridiculous and I loved how the film kept surprising me with new hilarious arcs. Also, the acting in ‘The Hangover’ is genius, if it hadn’t been for the perfect casting, this movie wouldn’t have been half as hilarious. The dialogue in ‘The Hangover’ is what really makes it all so amazing. There are so many genius one-liners it’s unbelievable.
You know, I hate how for the last couple of years, comedic features have been using irony as their main source of comedy. They are mainly ironic to themselves, the film openly acknowledges that it thinks it’s a stupid movie which is ironically ironic because because of that the film thinks it’s better than other features (but it isn’t because they are all do the same thing). (Comment below whether you understood what I just said #ironyception). ‘The Hangover’ doesn’t use irony and that’s what makes it stand out. It’s sarcastic. And sarcasm is a genius form of comedy that most movies don’t seem to have a grasp on.
They definitely screwed it up, it shouldn’t have been a franchise, it should have just been one movie because that one movie was perfect. ‘The Hangover’ knows what it is and its perfectly aware that its sole purpose it to make you fall out of your chair laughing. It really is the funniest film I have ever seen.
