What an amazing trailer.
The first official ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ teaser came out yesterday. You know, I’m so suck of productions screwing up when it comes to trailers. They either tell us basically the whole film through the trailer or make some two minute promo clip that’s neither exciting nor well-made. But Disney does a marvelous job when it comes to teasers, especially with the ‘Star Wars’ ones. If you remember, the first (and second, and third) trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ were amazing and hyped everyone up. The case is not different with the first teaser for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’. This is a vibrant, exciting trailer that gives me exactly how much I need, no more, no less, to get hyped for the new ‘Star Wars’ movie.
What does it tell us about the plot?
Again, plot-wise, this trailer gives me exactly how much I want. It makes it clear that the movie is going to focus a lot on Rey’s training as a Jedi. I now know there is going to be a lot more Poe in this movie, which is fantastic. I wish we got a bit more Finn in the trailer, he was shown only for a second or two, but, honestly, I’d rather get that than too much Finn. The trailer was not too descriptive, we still don’t know exactly what the plot of the film is going to be, but we do know that it’s going to focus on the battle between ‘light’ and ‘darkness’ and finding the ‘balance’ between those two.
I also think the trailer answered the question a lot of people have been having about the title of the film, a.k.a. is it one last ‘ledi’ of multiple last ‘jedi’. At the end of the trailer, Luke says ‘The time for the jedi to end’. The line, I think, clarifies the question, at least to me. Based on that line, I think it’s ‘the last jedi’ as in multiple last jedi, not ‘the last jedi’ as in Rey.
Technically speaking, the trailer is astonishing. If the film is half as beautiful as the trailer, this is going to be one f***ing amazing-looking production. The cinematography is unbelievable, every shot in the trailer is a feast for the eyes. Also, based on what we see in this first look of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, I can certainly say that the CGI is going to be unbelievable in this movie.
I loved the trailer. I think it’s genius because it gives the public exactly how much it should. It’s vibrant, it’s exciting, and it’s beautiful. Honestly, after seeing this, I’m 100% more hyped up to see ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ than before!
