This week I felt like doing something a bit more chill. I’m not doing a review or a top 10, but rather talking about a few TV Shows I like and am currently watching. I have watched a lot more TV series, these are just the ones I’m following right now. I will be rating each show I talk about, I understand some of them are not that good, but I still watch them, mostly for closure. Hope you enjoy!
- Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Really funny and extremely original. I love the direction, the acting is great, and the cinematography works amazing with the tone of the series. ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ is one of the few shows on this list that actually makes me laugh. Rating: 9/10.
- New Girl
‘New Girl’ is also really funny, although the jokes are predictable. I like the constant development of characters and love the acting in the series. Some of the characters do get annoying sometimes (cough, Jess, cough), but not so much as to make me stop watching the show. Rating: 7.5/10.
- The Big Bang Theory
This is one of those shows that I watch for closure. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ used to be amazing, but now it is certainly not. The producers have run out of funny jokes, everything is really predictable now, and I never laugh because I basically know what the next line is. It is still an enjoyable series, but really not what it used to be. Rating: 5.5/10.
- The Middle
‘The Middle’ is still fantastic. After the characters in the show grew up, I had a feeling that it was gonna get bad, but, fortunately, it didn’t. ‘The Middle’ is still a charming, fun, original show with some of the best developed characters in a comedy series. Some of the characters annoy me (cough, Frankie, cough), but I’m willing to let that go. Rating: 8.5/10.
‘Ballers’ drags a bit sometimes and gets a little boring, but it’s still a pretty good show. I watch it mainly for entertainment, I don’t expect to get anything our of it. I love The Rock and I love the idea of the show, honestly, I’ve been waiting for a male version of ‘Sex and the City’ for ages. Rating: 7.5/10.
Used to be good, is not anymore. Same story, same bulls**t. It’s very boring and it drags a lot. The producers try to spice things up with some bold choices, like killing off a character, but I think it’s pretty evident that they’ve just run out of ideas by now. I still watch it for closure and because I like how it connects to ‘The Flash’. Rating: 5.5/10.
- Game of Thrones
Yes, ‘Game of Thrones’ is a fantastic show. The fantasy world in it is beautiful, the story is interesting as f**k, the characters develop, and it’s directed perfectly. I do not like some of the choices the producers make, like killing off someone or keeping someone alive or focusing too much on some stories, but it’s still an awesome show. Rating: 9/10.
I’ve watched ‘Grimm’ every Saturday morning for almost seven years now… Since episode one! This show is the perfect example of an underrated show. It’s truly fantastic and needs to get hyped up. Very interesting, great characters, fantastic acting, and brilliant plot-twist. Go watch ‘Grimm’! I highly recommend it! Rating: 8.5/10.
Also, fantastic show. Very original idea, great plot-twists, and well-developed characters. The actor playing Lucifer, Tom Ellis, is amazing in this series! Also, beautiful soundtrack. I don’t like the fact that they are keeping some mysteries unsolved too long, it irritates me a bit, but I still love the show despite of that. Rating: 8.5/10.
Episodes come out once every three years or so, but when they do… Perfect. I’m not even gonna praise everything individually, I’m just gonna rate it… Rating: 10/10. No joke.
- The 100
‘The 100’ is probably my favorite show at the moment. It, like ‘Grimm’, is also very underrated, so if you haven’t seen it, go and watch it. Imagine ‘Game of Thrones’, but with a lower budget. Great acting, directing, cinematography, and story. Also, this series has one of the best plot-twists ever. Rating: 9/10.
- The Flash
‘The Flash’ is very entertaining and fun. I watch it when I have forty minutes to relax before getting to my next task. I don’t expect to get anything from it, I expect it to bring me out of the boring reality and into the world of the Flash. I generally enjoy it, although it does get very cheesy sometimes, which annoys me. Rating: 7/10.
- The Shannara Chronicles
Again, a very underrated show. Although ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ is still a bit chaotic and the producers need to organize the story, the series is still really good and has a lot of potential. It’s a very different story than you would expect (I don’t wanna spoil anything) and it’s honestly unlike anything you’ve seen before. Also, the soundtrack here is fantastic. The show does get cheesy at times, but not as much as you would expect it to. Rating: 7.5/10.
- American Horror Story
I have such mixed feeling about this show. On the one hand, I love it because it’s different in so many ways. On the other hand, there are so many plot holes in this show and some of the stories and seasons are absolutely boring and make no sense at all. The first two seasons are great. The third season is generally good and entertaining, although some things in it make no sense. The fourth season is absolute s**t and is not something anybody should be watching. The fifth season I haven’t seen yet. The sixth season looks amazing so far, but there are not enough episodes out for me to judge it. General rating: 6/10.
- Marvel Series on Netflix
These series, so far, have been the best productions about superheroes on TV or on the big screen ever. ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Jessica Jones’ are unbelievably good. Perfect on any level. If you haven’t seen them, go watch them now! I’m sure ‘Luke Cage’, ‘Iron Fist’, and ‘The Defenders’ will also be amazing. Rating: 10/10.
And there you have it! These are the TV shows I’m currently watching. Hope you enjoyed this week’s post, I wanted to do something more chill and casual. Just to let you know, for the next upcoming months I will be posting a recommendation on Thursday and a list/review/something like this on Saturday. Now go have a great week!
