Oscars 2018: Gary Oldman Wins Best Actor

Gary Oldman wins the Oscar for Best Actor during the 90th Academy Awards for his role as Winston Churchill in ‘Darkest Hour’.

In his speech, he thanked the Academy and its members. He also thanked his friends, his family, and everything America has given him. Oldman also gave a few special shout-outs to his oldest colleagues. He saluted Winston Churchill and his wife (Oldman’s, not Churchill’s). Gary was sad for not winning ‘the ski’, but made sure to thank his mother.

Our Movie Life completely supports the Academy with their decision. We did not like ‘Darkest Hour’ very much, but Gary Oldman was undeniably unbelievable in the movie. It’s one of those moments when it’s clear that an actor is not ‘acting’, but in fact ‘being’ the person they are portraying. Gary Oldman’s performance was truthful, captivating, and incredibly impressive. He most certainly deserves this award.
