Three Rising Stars in Hollywood

Hollywood is an ever-changing industry. Artists come and go every day. It can be overwhelming keeping track with who’s doing well in the city of stars and who’s slowly fading away from the spotlight.

Inspired by our Robert Pattinson article from last week, we want to look ahead for more new talent in Hollywood. There are three young actors that have been on our radar for a while. We believe, truthfully, that these have a bright future ahead and might even be the new faces of the upcoming generation of young artists.

Here they are, in no particular order.

Eliza Scanlen

Eliza Scanlen is Amma Crellin in Sharp Objects.

Eliza Scanlen’s first (and currently only) success comes from Sharp Objects. The actress played Amma Crellin and absolutely demolished the role. Sharp Objects showcased a ton of talent and this young Australian actress still managed to shine through that beautifully.

In the future, she’s got two big projects coming up. One is The Devil All the Time, which we mentioned last week, with Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, and Sebastian Stan in the cast. The other one is Little Women, the new Greta Gerwig feature starring Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, and Meryl Streep. Both projects seem great and are sure to skyrocket Eliza Scanlen’s career.

Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh is Saraya Knight in Fighting with My Family.

Speaking of Little Women, next on our list is Florence Pugh. She is also part of the brilliant cast of Greta Gerwig’s future creative masterpiece. Florence Pugh’s first successful projects were Lady Macbeth, Outlaw King, and Malevolent. Most recently, she was the lead in Fighting with My Family, which turned out to be a huge hit and got universal praise by audiences and critics alike.

Up next for her is Midsommer, Ari Aster’s (director/writer of Hereditary) new project. That comes out quite soon actually. After that follows the already mentioned Little Women. Florence Pugh is also confirmed to star in the upcoming Black Widow MCU movie. It’s not confirmed yet what her role will be, but presumably it’s an important one. These three upcoming projects are a sure formula for success, especially considering there’s a blockbuster in the mix.

Fionn Whitehead

Fionn Whitehead is Stefan Butler in Bandersnatch.

This one is a bit of a gamble. Fionn Whitehead’s successes so far are Dunkirk and Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. He’s done one or two indies since, but those haven’t done him any favors.

Up next for him are the productions Don’t Tell a Soul and Voyages. The latter is written and directed by Neil Burger, the creator behind Limitless and Divergent. Even though those two films don’t seem as a sure sign for success, we’ll still follow Fionn Whitehead’s career with interest over the upcoming years. He’s talented, has a good look, and producers seem to like him.

But again, we never know. Hollywood is a riddle. A puzzle. It’s a complete gamble.

But gambling has always been one of our uncontrollable vices.
